Batavia High School announced Friday afternoon that ALL games scheduled for that night for ALL sports teams were canceled.

The Batavia Park District also canceled all of its classes and events for Friday.

Please visit athletics2000.com/batavia later for any rescheduled games. Batavia Public Schools had no classes Friday, due to a previously scheduled Teacher Work Day.

The falling snow continued to worsen.

About 2.6 inches of snow has fallen in Batavia as of 3 p.m. Friday, according to a trained weather spotter.

Heavy snow means that visibilities will be reduced to one quarter-mile.

The parking lot, sidewalks and surrounding streets were plowed near Immanuel Lutheran Church in Batavia Friday. The visitation for Spc. Chris Patterson  continued until 8 p.m. as scheduled.

Please send any Batavia snow pictures or traffic reports to charles.menchaca@patch.com.
