Route 31 north of Route 38 in Geneva reopened to traffic Wednesday afternoon after an oversize delivery snafu.

An oversized load attempted to make a delivery on Stevens Street, about four blocks north of Rt. 38. The load got stuck on Rt. 31 between Stevens and Ford streets trying to navigate a turn.

Traffic was held to one lane and quickly became congested. Police notified the public of the situation at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The load finally cleared the area and traffic was reopened at about 4 p.m.
