Jerry Dunn, owner and chef of The RendezVu, and manager Jamie Saam (pictured on this page) took a few minutes Thursday to answer some questions about their restaurant full of homemade cooking:

What does your business offer?

A variety of food and drink, including:

  • Hand-cut steaks and pork chops
  • The famous pretzel-crusted tilapia
  • Homemade thin-crust pizzas
  • Various sandwiches and pastas

When was your business established?

We opened up at 102 N. River St. (current site of Tusk Thai Cuisine) in June of 2006. The space here (1 E. Wilson St.) became available and we wanted to expand our offerings, so we moved to this spot in April 2008.

How many people work at your place?

We have 15 employees.

Why did you decide to locate in Batavia?

Jerry: I live in Aurora and worked in Geneva, so I used to pass through Batavia all the time. I wanted to offer my cooking skills in a small-town community that was very loyal, and Batavia was a great fit.

Is there anything you'd like to tell Patch readers?

Jamie: We are a friendly and fun bunch. Jerry is a trained chef with 5-star restaurant experience who creates meals at reasonable prices.

All of Jerry’s sauces, all of his salad dressings are homemade. Everybody just loves Jerry’s Ranch dressing!
