Suspicious Vehicle Reported Near Mill Creek Elementary School
Geneva School District 304 sends an e-mail note Thursday warning neighbors about a woman screaming at kids to "come over" to her car Wednesday afternoon. The children did not "respond to the woman's demands."
Geneva School District 304 is letting residents know about an incident around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday near Mill Creek Elementary School.
In a 304Connects e-mail, officials reported that Kane County sheriff's deputies were called to a residence on Sully Drive, where two children were playing in their yard.
"A suspicious vehicle stopped on Brundige Road, when a female passenger exited the vehicle, yelling at them to come over to the vehicle. The children did not respond to the woman's demands, eventually going into their home upon their mother's request," the e-mail said.
The children's mother described the vehicle as a green Ford Ranger with a ladder rack. The vehicle was occupied by a male driver and a female passenger.
"According to the sheriff's deputy, the kids never said that the female tried to get them into the car," the e-mail said.

Why don't these notices come out on Wednesday? It's probably nothing, but a suspicious vehicle near a school in a neighborhood with tons of kids - maybe worth sending an immediate news release?

This incident actually took place on Tuesday afternoon. Too bad they can't get their facts right...

Regardless of that date this was posted, residents in the Tri-city area need to be aware that bad things happen in good neighborhoods too. We need to make sure we are reminding our kids to practice good safety skills and that predictors will use women and children to coherse others.
