A woman's body was found in a vehicle Wednesday morning north of the Kaneland High School property, police said.

At about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Kane County Sheriff's deputies were called to investigate a vehicle pulled over on the side of Meredith Road north of Keslinger Road in unincorporated Kaneville Township.

The deputies located a deceased woman near the vehicle and began a death investigation into the incident, according to a Sheriff's Department press release.

The woman's identity was initially withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The deceased person is not a student at the high school, an earlier version of the release said.

The initial investigation does not indicate any suspicion of foul play. The actual cause of death will not be available until the completion of the autopsy by the Kane County Coroner’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Department contacted Kaneland School District officials. Based on the information available, no lockdown was done at the school and all school summer activities continued as normal Wednesday.

Sections of Meredith Road were closed earlier Wednesday after police arrived, from north of the high school campus to Route 38. Police began to clear the scene after 12 p.m.

During the initial investigation, traffic was limited on Keslinger Road from the scene all the way east to Keslinger and Randall Road in Geneva.

The case remains under investigation. No additional details are being released until the investigation is complete.
