Readers' Choice: What's Your Favorite Gym? (UPDATE)

Where do you go to get your sweat on?

Welcome back to Readers' Choice, the weekly feature that gives residents in the Tri-Cities the chance to pick their favorites.

We've had some fun with flowers, picked some pubs for St. Patrick's Day and even made some big decisions when it comes to car dealerships, just to name a few of our previous contests.

This week, we're working on our fitness. What is your favorite gym in the Tri-Cities?

To get your heart pumping, we've put together a list of local gyms (in no particular order):

The keys to pumping up your favorite gym are voting in the poll and leaving a good review.

Step 1: Vote in the poll

You can vote once per day between now and noon Friday, March 30, in the poll below.

The gym with the most votes will get 10 points, while the one with second-most will receive 8 points while the business with the third-most will earn 6 points.

Step 2: Leave a review

The gym with the best rating will receive 10 points, while the second-best will get 8 points and the third place finisher will receive 6 points. Go to the business listing page for the gym you like by using the links above or by visiting the Places page. Please remember that you have to leave your review before noon on Friday, March 30.

Step 3: Leave a comment

This step is optional but is helpful in case of a tie.

We'll tally up the total based on the votes and reviews and declare the Readers' Choice winner! Take a peek at the rules attached for a full explanation of how this contest works.

Now, it's up to you! Pack up your gym bag, fill up your water bottle and vote for your favorite!

Editor's Note: In future installments of Readers' Choice, we'll focus on personal trainers, yoga & pilates studios and other specific types of workout centers.

Hi Ed—we DO have River West Family Fitness in the first list at the top, but the writer needs to add it to the poll. Sorry about that! In the meantime, please give River West a star rating and leave a brief comment about it here: http://batavia.patch.com/listings/river-west-family-fitness
Thanks for letting us know!

The staff at Tri-City Fitness in St. Charles is so helpful and friendly. The gym is kept very clean and I have never seen it too crowded. All of their classes are very effective and the teachers are always so accomadating to ALL fitness levels. And, the price is right.

I have been a member with MedFitness for many years. I need to stay strong for my job to prevent injuries and dont have a lot of time to work out. The routine at MedFitness is very efficient and effective. The strength training staff is excellent and the owner Richard Wolff truly loves fitness and making sure the program works for you! I have tried other facilities but dont like the pressure of all the staff trying to sell you training or special programs. I also love how MedFitness is not intimidating to work out in and there is no pressure to 'fit in' or dress a certain way. Thanks MedFitness for helping me lose and keep off 20lbs last year!!!!

Not in the list, but FitMama in LaFox is the best, most supportive, fun atmosphere for the super-athletic, and the not-so-super-athletic. Owner Erin Schaefer is the bomb as a trainer, and her classes are fantastic.

I go to FitMama in LaFox as well and can't say enough wonderful things about it! It is the only gym experience that I've really enjoyed. A large part of that is the owner/trainer, Erin Schaefer, but the other ladies there are encouraging and inspiring as well. I would encourage ladies to check it out and become a FitMama.
