Update: NBC To Air BHS Footage Saturday and Monday After Signal Problems
Please check Channel 5 aka NBC today, Saturday morning, and Monday to see some of the Batavia High School footage the station didn't show on Friday. Technical difficulties prevented the shots from going out live.
Batavia will still be on NBC—you're just going to have to wait a bit longer.
NBC 5 will air some of the footage they shot Friday morning at Batavia High School during their Saturday morning news program today, Saturday, Nov. 19, the station announced. They will also air the footage on Monday morning.
NBC has already put some of the footage online. To see a 79-second clip of the BHS Drumline performing, click here.
Signal problems prevented NBC from broadcasting live shots from Batavia High School. The school hosted NBC this morning after earning the Prep Destination of the Week title. Batavia beat out Naperville Central after an intense voting campaign.
Here's a statement from Matt Rodewald, NBC 5 reporter and 670 The Score anchor:
"We're going to run Dance Friday at noon today and again on Monday morning on NBC 5. My sincerest apologies to all the Bulldog fans.
This was not something I anticipated this morning and our engineers struggled to get our signal up and going. I want to thank the best student section in the Tri-Cities for getting up so early.
The pictures on Patch proved they're ready for Saturday's historic match up. In the end, let's hope this becomes an afterthought to a magical season that will hopefully end in the school's first state championship."
Even though NBC did not broadcast any shots yet, Batavia Patch had pictures posted by the second hour of this morning's event.
