SHERIFF: Stranger Asks Mill Creek Girl If She's Ever Seen A Naked Man
The incident occurred on Sunday and is considered suspicious. Here are the details and a suspect description.
A 10-year-old girl was approached Sunday in the Mill Creek subdivision by a man she did not know, police said.
The man asked the girl if she had ever seen a grown man naked, according to a Kane County Sheriff's Office press release. The incident occurred at about 6:45 p.m. in the area of Dobson and Callighan lanes near Geneva.
The man did not exit his car during the incident and left immediately after speaking to the girl, the Sheriff's Office said. She ran to a nearby residence and reported the incident.
The man was driving a black, full-sized 4-door vehicle with a loud muffler. He was described as follows:
- White male
- Dark shoulder-length hair
- Might have a goatee
- Possibly wore sunglasses
Sheriff’s Deputies were not able to locate anyone matching the description provided. Residents are encouraged to call 911 if they see anyone matching this description, and to talk to their kids about stranger danger.
Parents are also encouraged to keep a close eye on their children when they are outside.
Suspicious Incident Last Year
This is the second reported incident in about 10 months of a man approaching a girl in Mill Creek.
The Sheriff's Office reported a similar incident on Nov. 7, 2011. During that incident, an 8-year-old girl was approached by a man she did not know in a white, four-door pickup truck. The incident took place on West Burnham Lane, about 2.5 miles south of where Sunday's incident took place.
The incidents are similar, but there is no official connection between the two events.
