Letter to the Editor: Burns Is a Proven Leader
Kurt Wehrmeister of Geneva says Kevin Burns has shown time and again that he can bring people together. "That is leadership, and it is what we sorely need in the office of chairman of the Kane County Board."
To the Editor:
I have known Kevin Burns for more than 30 years; since he was in high school. I know his family and his character; I have seen how he reacts to both success and adversity.
I have watched him build a sterling and prolonged record of community
service—most recently in his nearly 11 years as Geneva's second-longest-serving mayor.
In that office, he has been consistently successful in bringing together people of divergent viewpoints to craft a consensus for the betterment of the community. Through gentle prodding, leavened often with humor and always with kindness and decency, Mayor Burns has, time and again, patiently guided disagreeing partisans into working in concert.
That is leadership, and it is what we sorely need in the office of chairman of the Kane County Board. I believe Kevin Burns possesses it in greater measure than his opponent, and so I urge you to vote for him on March 20.

Wow Kurt is this the same Kevin I saw ignore Paul Decoutax, blow up at Ray Pawlak and Bill Barclay and act as though Ralph Dantino didn't exist? I have also known Kevin since High School and while I agree he can be extremely nice and entertaining he can also blow like a Volcano! just saying!

Burns is a blowhard. Plain and simple. He works better as a circus conductor because that's all he does. Since he was divorced by his former wife for infidelity I'd say that say it all regarding his character AND charater matters big time!

Kurt, ask Mayor Burns about how he reacted to the smoking ban ordinance when the council put him in a tie breaking voting position. He couldn't handle the pressure and exploded into a expletive filled tirade.

Kurt. loved your announcing at the football games, but I'm afraid you're a lousy judge of character.
