This intersection has more than its share of accidents. Route 59 at Golf Road was like this at one time until changes were made to the traffic signals and prohibiting right turns after stop. These changes would make the Kirk-Fabyan intesection safer.

Because of this accident cars were heading north on Rt. 25 and taking Chalmers St. which curves around in to Kansas St. and taking Kansas to State Street. Apparently these people assume that taking neighborhood streets and driving at high rates of speed are just fine. A friend of mine watched car after car fly down her street. She had to walk her son to the bus stop so he wouldn't be hit by the traffic. People use Kansas Street as a short cut going home from work, too. Because there are no stop signs they take license with high speeds to get to Rt. 25. Parents in this neighborhood have asked the City for years for a four way stop at Kansas and Oak St. but no one will listen. This particular area of Geneva isn't worth their time and effort. I suppose it's going to take a child being killed by one of these irresponsible drivers for the City of Geneva to do something.

I got tangled up in/witnessed the local traffic described in the comments. Traffic was insane. Regarding the stop sign, you should contact your aldermen as a starting point in obtaining that goal.

Becky, the residents in that neighborhood have been trying for years. Of course the alderman has been contacted. Nothing ever gets done.
