FINAL: Batavia 31, Lake Forest 17

The Bulldogs put down 21 points in the fourth quarter to advance to Round 3 of this year's playoffs.

Saturday was a good day for a football game, and a great day for a Batavia win.

The Bulldogs ended the Lake Forest Scouts' season on Saturday afternoon with a 31-17 win at home. Batavia hosted Lake Forest at for this second-round football playoff game.

The Dogs came back from a 7-point deficit in the third quarter to put up 21 unanswered points up in the fourth.

Senior fullback Alec Lyons had three touchdowns, adding points for the Dogs throughout the game. Senior Brandon Clabough once again put up multiple good extra-point kicks. Clabough was the first to put points on the board during the first quarter of the game.

Senior quarterback Noel Gaspari was 10-for-19, throwing over 149 yards.

The Bulldogs had some mistakes but were able to hold their own for most of the game. Last week Batavia to put away the Niles Notre Dame Dons.

"If feels better than the last week," said Dennis Piron, Batavia's head football coach, of Saturday's win. "It was a great day for our community."

The time and date is to be announced, but Batavia will definitely have a road game against Lake Villa for its Round 3 playoff matchup. The Bulldogs have not been on the road since an .
