Car vs. Pedestrian Crash Reported on Fabyan Parkway Friday Night

At least one person was transported, according to initial reports. Here's what we know.

One person was taken to a hospital after a car vs. pedestrian collision Friday night on Fabyan Parkway, according to police.

The crash occurred on Fabyan at Allen Drive, across from the Holmstad retirement community, according to reader reports. Batavia police and fire were dispatched to the scene at about 6:35 p.m.

One patient was transported as code red, signifying urgent medical care was needed, according to initial scanner reports. Readers said that emergency personnel tended to a person that lay in the roadway.

Fabyan Parkway was open again to traffic by 8:45 p.m. Friday, but Batavia police and fire officials were still at the scene. Batavia police called in the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team sometime before 7 p.m. to respond to the crash.

Further information on the crash was not immediately available. Patch will post an update if more details are released.

i drove by this just after responders had arrived, there was a tan(?) car pulled over with flashers, and about 20 feet behind it was the man on the pavement, on his side, facing traffic as we passed. The man had no movement and paramedics were standing over him in a way that led me to believe(in the 10 seconds i could see) that he was deceased saddly. I have no idea if that was the case, just my opinion of what i saw.

I also drove by this last night. The person, who appeared to be an adult, was still on the ground and first responders had just arrived. They were only nealing next to the person when I was there. I assumed that they were just making their initial assessment of the person before forcing any movement. It was in an odd location for a pedestrian to be in the road. I hope everyone is ok.
