Update: The Batavia Jewel-Osco sold out their entire last batch of Twinkies this Wednesday morning. The last shipment arrived at 5:30 a.m., according to a store employee.

JEWEL-OSCO^®, a leading Midwest food and pharmacy retailer, is giving local Twinkie lovers a chance to get one final taste of the iconic Hostess Brands treat.

This week, the retailer is receiving what is believed to be the final shipment of Twinkies in the country. More than 20,000 boxes of Twinkies are available starting Tuesday at select Chicago-area JEWEL-OSCO stores, including the Batavia and two St. Charles locations. Customers looking for Ding Dongs, Zingers and Orange Cupcakes are also in luck.

“We were contacted by our Hostess representative who asked us if we wanted to buy the remaining supply of their products, and we responded ‘most definitely,’” said JEWEL-OSCO External Communications Manager Karen May. “Many of our customers love them.”

The Hostess products are being sold at regular price, while supplies last. There is no limit on how many items a customer can buy.
