This weekend, the Batavia High School Varsity Dance team qualified for State when it came in 3rd in the Open Pom category at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Sectionals at Palatine High School Saturday. IHSA competitions are new to dance teams in Illinois this year, and the Batavia High School Varsity Dance Team is excited that it has advanced to compete in the State Finals, which will be held in Bloomington January 25 & 26. 

The Batavia High School Varsity Dance Team is having a stellar year, winning three (3) first place trophies for Open Pom, Hip-Hop and Open Dance, as well as earning the "Overall Artistic" trophy for Open Dance, at a "Team
Dance Illinois (TDI)" competition recently held in Oswego.  The TDI State competition will be held in Peoria at the Civic Center on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
