Rotolo Middle School Band & Orchestra Introduce Fourth Graders to Music
Delighted fourth graders from every Batavia elementary school were invited to Rotolo Middle School last Thursday to learn about the band and orchestra instruments.
At the annual Band and Orchestra Demonstration Concert, middle- school music students demonstrated each of the instrument types, from as high as the flute to as low as the string bass. Both groups also performed hit music like a Lady Gaga dance mix as well as the songs "All Star" and "Hot ‘N Cold."
All interested fourth graders are encouraged to participate in the instrumental music program which extends from fifth grade all the way up to senior year in high school. The band and orchestra teachers will come to each school on the following dates to try out students on three instruments of their choice:
April 6
April 8
April 12
April 14
April 20
April 25
Once the students have their choice of instruments, they can then sign up and register as new band and orchestra students at Rotolo Middle School, 1501 S. Raddant Rd., on the following dates:
5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Mon., May 2
5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wed., May 4
